Martin Luther King, Jr.: Martin Luther King,Jr. embraced Gandhi’s principles of non-violent resistance and civil disobedience and applied them to challenge the unjust, discriminatory practices employed by a predominantly white society against black people. These principles guided him as he articulated with a persuasive, spellbinding, emotional intensity the injustices and indignities practiced against his race and against the other colored peoples of the world.
